Standard Umbilical Cables
Standard Umbilical Cables are lightweight with braided cover. The easily
repaired umbilical cable includes one kink-free, wire reinforced sample
line, 3 kink-resistant polyethylene lines (2 pitot & 1 orsat
line), 5 type K thermocouple extensions, and 1 five conductor
electrical cable with 4-pin circular connectors. Thermocouple plugs are
color coded. The sample line has 1/2 inch quick connect and the pitot
lines have 1/4 inch quick connects standard (3/8 inch optional). Our
custom manufactured quick connects are brass with Viton®
o-rings. Stainless steel quick connects are optional. Standard lengths
are 30, 60 and 90 feet. U-bag included. |

Umbilical Adapters
|
Power Box Adapter (UA-3J)
The UA-3J connects to umbilical 4-pin circular
connector and converts to three straight blade receptacles. Clamps to
1/2 inch sample line or GA-100 adapter. The UA-3J is used in
conjunction with the Compact Method 5, Method 8, Method 17 and in other
sampling situations in which power for the probe is not available due
to the absence of a heated filter box. |
 |
Probe Power Adapter (UA-HJ)
UA-HJ connects to umbilical 4-pin circular connector
and converts to a single receptacle for the probe power. |
 |
|
Heated Filter Box Power Adapter (UA-FP)
The UA-FP connects to the 4-pin circular connector on
the filter oven and allows the oven to connect to a standard receptacle.

Cut-Back Umbilical Cables and
Accessories for Flexible Sampling
Cut-Back Umbilical Cables are constructed the same way as our Standard
Method 5 umbilicals with the sample line and exit thermocouple cut-back
to the specified length. Cut-back umbilicals are useful when sampling
with a flexible sample line as in Method 17, Flexible Method 5 set-ups
and Compact Method 5. Used in flexible systems when the filter
compartment is separated from impinger box. The umbilical lengths are
specified according to overall length, and the cut-back distance of the
sample line and exit thermocouple. Brass or stainless steel quick
connects are available. Can be converted to a standard umbilical cable
with the addition of the Umbilical Sample Line Extension (U-o-SLE).
|
|
|
Umbilical Sample Line Extension (U-o-SLE)
are used to adapt the cut-back umbilical to a standard Method 5 rigid
arrangement. Comes standard with brass quick connects. Add suffix
“S” for stainless steel option.

| Heated Sample Line (HSRL-o-o)
jumpers are used with flexible sampling trains when the method, such as
Method 23, requires no condensation prior to the impingers. These are
also used to ensure all water vapor transfers to the impingers as
moisture content is an important variable in the isokinetic rate
equation. A temperature control device is recommended to prevent
overheating. |
| Sample Line Accessories
include PTFE or stainless steel socket /ball adapters and strain relief
which are used to adapt the sample lines to the sampling train. |
