Meriter AeroSphere air sampling canisters are used for convenient and
reliable collection of ambient, whole air samples. These high purity, passivated,
stainless steel canisters are designed to maintain the integrity and stability
of the sample while it is being transported to a laboratory and stored
for future analysis. Common uses include the sampling of volatile organic
compounds in air according to EPA Methods TO14A and TO 15. Meriter is a
listed supplier of canisters within these EPA compendium methods (published
January 1997). |
|
Between uses AeroSphere canisters are recleaned
(contact Meriter for equipment and procedural information) and then evacuated
with a vacuum pump. While under vacuum pump. While under vacuum the canister
valve may be opened to collect a "grab sample." Sampling over time may
be regulated with external components that control flow rate and sample
duration.
Built Better to Perform Better
Meticulous attention to detail goes into the manufacture
of each AeroSphere sampling canister, producing the highest quality summa-type
canister available. |
 |
AeroSphere canisters are constructed from precision
formed 304L stainless steel components. The interior
surfaces undergo a proprietary electropolishing process which creates a
passive layer, enriched in chromium-oxide.
Once electropolished, the canisters are thoroughly rinsed with hot deionized
water, dried and packaged--all in a class 100 clean room.
You can see the superior quality of an AeroSphere
canister. Computer controlled lathe welding equipment enables Meriter?s
welding process to be highly repeatable, and ensures that all welds are
fully penetrated. Meriter?s canisters are continuously purged during
welding with a blanket of ultrapure argon.
The resulting welds and surrounding surfaces are oxidation-free and also
free of entrapped contaminants.
AeroSphere canisters are readily available with
a choice of valves, with or without a pressure/vacuum gauge, or built to
your specifications.

Aerosphere features that improve your sample analysis
results
-
304L grade stainless steel, low in carbon for superior weld quality, and
excellent resistance to corrosion.
-
High purity passivated canister interiors, leaving a chromium oxide rich
layer that is free of adsorbed hydrocarbons.
-
Industry standard spherical design, and dimensional interchangeable with
other brands.
-
Welds are fully penetrated and oxidation-free.
-
Offered with a choice of high purity valves, all leak tested to at least
4 x 10-9 std. atm. cc/sec.
-
Contaminant-free AeroSphere canisters are thoroughly cleaned in hot deionized
water and dried with ultrapure nitrogen.
-
Each canister is purged with purified and humidified zero air while being
baked out at over 300?F.
-
Canisters are leak-tested, evacuated and shipped under vacuum.
